OUR PROGRAM
Tree Equity
Trees are vital to our health. That is why we have a program which evaluates and proceeds to plant native trees where they are most needed.
Resilient Forests
Our program focuses on restoring native forests in natural landscapes so they can adapt to the impacts of climate change, capture and store carbon, protect our water supply, and provide habitats for wildlife.
Problem
What do we observe?
Environmental deterioration due to anthropic action and its direct consequences: environmental degradation rates, pollution, desertification, global temperature increase, landscape modifications, loss of biodiversity, both animal and plant species, abrupt changes in rainfall patterns, floods, droughts, etc. All this has been generating great concern at different levels of decision making in the communities of most countries, regardless of their level of development, and not only for environmentalists, but also for ecologists, economists, politicians and the general public.
Global awareness of the effects of climate change is relatively new.
It is actually demanding changes in the agronomic and industrial production systems, as well as in the laws and global consumer strategies towards an environmentally sustainable production.
we need to enhance the
Solutions
However, as we experienced in this last pandemic, when cities stopped but world agricultural production continued, positive changes were still observed in environmental terms.
Therefore, it is not only changes in land use, monocultures, and industry that generate climate change; cities and peri-urban regions are also generators of both: changes in land use and harmful effects on air, water, and soil.
It can be asserted that urban and peri-urban areas will increase in the future, and it can also be assumed that agricultural areas could decrease proportionally due to improvements in biotechnology, for example having more food production in smaller areas.
OUR OBJECTIVES
To cultivate fast-growing native as well as exotic trees and plants where possible, in order to repopulate areas affected by deforestation.
To generate biological corridors, “highways” between fragmented environments.
These corridors are very important for species who reduce their population size and end up isolated from each other.
One strategy to protect them is to repopulate the environment on the “highways” that connect them. This can be achieved by planting native trees, bushes and/or herbaceous plants.
To produce and donate native vegetation species to be planted in urban and peri-urban areas in conjunction with public and private, educative and scientific investigation
institutions.
To inform and sensitize the public through courses, chats, brochures, and didactic sheets about the importance of trees in general; focusing on the native species that contribute to mitigate the greenhouse effect produced by high concentrations of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere; as well as on the restoration of environments degraded by anthropic action.

There are many things you can do to ensure that our forests in cities and large landscapes are healthy for generations to come. Be a voice for native species.
Every donation helps NativAr restore native species in cities and large landscapes - for people, wildlife and the planet. Donate today and help us protect forests for the future.
You can add your grain of salt and be part of this movement; so that more of us are collaborating to plant trees and protect our planet.
